Maestro Enterprises International Presents: A Christmas Celebration of Music and Talent

Toronto, ON – February 10, 2025 – (Updated March 13, 2025) Maestro Enterprises International (MEI), under the direction of Maestro Daniel Eby, invites you to a joyous and inspiring Christmas celebration, marking a remarkable milestone: Maestro Eby's 40th year of teaching classical singing and the 25th anniversary of his original production of "Amahl and the Night Visitors." This extraordinary series of events will unfold at the PAL Toronto Green Room (110 The Esplanade, Toronto, ON M5E 1X9) in November and December 2025, promising a captivating blend of music, mentorship, and community spirit.

This year's festivities are more than just a concert series; they represent a heartfelt tribute to Maestro Eby's enduring passion for the arts and his profound impact on Toronto's vibrant music scene. A graduate of the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music, Maestro Eby has nurtured the talents of countless singers over the past four decades, guiding them to reach their full artistic potential. His influence extends beyond the studio, with a remarkable portfolio of over 600 live performances, ranging from intimate recitals to grand opera productions.

“Reaching this 40-year milestone fills me with immense gratitude,” reflects Maestro Eby. “It's a privilege to share my love of music with my students and the Toronto community. This celebration is an opportunity to express that gratitude and to showcase the extraordinary talent that flourishes within our city.”

Vocal Competition

A highlight of the celebration will be a thrilling vocal competition held on November 14th and 15th, 2025. The first round, on Friday, November 14th, will feature 12 to 16 talented singers showcasing their skills. From this impressive group, the top 6 will advance to the final round on Saturday, November 15th, where they'll compete for grand prizes. The finalists of the competition will be invited to perform as featured soloists in the Christmas concert in December.

Acclaimed as one of Canada’s finest concert and oratorio singers, Daniel Lichti brings nearly 50 years of professional experience to the adjudication panel. From his early career at the Stratford Festival to performances with the Canadian Opera Company, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and major orchestras worldwide, Mr. Lichti’s contributions to the music world are extensive. His expertise, honed through decades of performance and teaching at Wilfrid Laurier University, will provide invaluable guidance to the competition participants.

“We are honored to have Daniel Lichti join us as an adjudicator,” says Maestro Eby. “His presence adds a level of prestige to the competition and offers a unique opportunity for aspiring singers to receive feedback from one of Canada's most respected vocalists.”

Christmas Concert

The celebration culminates with the annual Christmas concert on Sunday, December 14th, 2025, at 3:00 PM. This heartwarming program will feature holiday classics and inspiring liturgical pieces, performed by Maestro Eby's talented students and colleagues, along with special performances by the vocal competition finalists. A festive reception will follow the concert.

This year's Christmas Concert also holds a deeper meaning, as it will benefit PAL Toronto, a vital organization that provides a supportive living facility for professional artists, including Maestro Eby and Daniel Lichti. All proceeds from the event will go directly to PAL Toronto, helping them continue their important work in the arts community.

Bass-baritone Daniel Lichti is one of Canada's leading concert and oratorio singers, with a career spanning nearly 50 years. He has performed with major opera companies and orchestras across North America and Europe, including the Canadian Opera Company, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and the symphony orchestras of Toronto, Montreal, San Francisco, and many others. Mr. Lichti is also a dedicated educator, having served as Associate Professor and Coordinator of Voice at Wilfrid Laurier University.
